The Christmas Tag

As we are approaching the end of November very soon, that means December is just around the corner whiiiich also means Christmas. It’s time to panic about those Christmas presents you’ve not even had time to think about and grab those Black Friday sales this Friday – I know I will be.
To start off the festive blogging season, I though a simple Christmas tag would be a good way of getting into the excitement.

1. What is your favourite Christmas movie?

This is always a hard question whenever I get asked because I love so many. I could easily binge watch Christmas movies in my pjs all day long and not get bored. If I had to pick favourites, it would definitely have to be The Santa Claus and Elf. They are both classics that I watch every year and love.

2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?

It’s always a tradition that we get new Christmas pjs on Christmas Eve to head to bed in and then open our presents on Christmas morning so I guess you could say we open one Christmas Eve.

3. Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?

I remember when I was pretty young and the weather was windy and awful on Christmas Eve, we woke up Christmas morning to our gates to the garden on the floor. I remember Santa leaving a note apologising for hitting his sleigh off the gates and knocking them down. I thought it was the most exciting thing and told everyone at school that Santa knocked my gates down.

4. Favourite festive food?

It has to be pigs in blankets. In general, I LOVE Christmas dinner all round, but I will always, always take seconds (and thirds) of pigs in blankets. It’s a shame they aren’t an all year thing. And of course chocolate has to be a strong favourite – where’s Christmas without a Terry’s Chocolate Orange?

5. Favourite Christmas Gift?

I think one of my favourite christmas present’s as a child had to be my Baby ChooChoo doll that I asked Santa for. I remember I had wanted a baby doll for years and finally asked for one from Santa and it was the very last present I opened – I thought I hadn’t got it. I was so excited!

6. Favourite Christmas scent?

Cinnamon is my all year round favourite scent and flavour – I love cinnamon toast, bagels, crunch and porridge. So when the cinnamon candles get whipped out in December, I am very pleased and it automatically reminds me of Christmas. I also really like the smell when it’s been snowing outside and its laid. That sounds really weird but the air always has a crisp, snowy smell about it. I can’t quite explain it to justice!

7. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?

As I said before, we all get into our new Christmas pjs on Christmas Eve, but it’s always such a surprise and excitement as we don’t know what the pjs will be. My Mum always leaves them outside of the bathroom for us after our shower – it’s like we’re little kids again, I love it. We also have a big buffet of Chinese food as the table is set for Christmas dinner so we usually eat it in the living room watching a film.

8. What tops your tree?

I have two trees, the one in my living room has a star I think while the other 10ft one is an angel I think. Although I’m not allowed to touch or help decorating the tree – it’s all down to my Mum! We sometimes get the privilege of passing her the baubles if we are lucky but that’s pretty rare. Her decorating skills are amazing though, every bauble is hung to perfection and colour coordinated, I don’t know how she has the patience.

9. As a kid what was the one (crazy, extravagant, wild) gift you asked for but never received?

I don’t actually think I asked for anything crazy, my Mum probably talked me out of the idea before asking for it – I did however always want on of those bunk beds that had a slide but never got one. I don’t think I ever asked for it though, but just circled and turned the pages in the Argos catalogues!

10. What’s the best part of Christmas for you?

I love the build up to Christmas, writing this has already got me far too excited! Christmas day always goes past so fast, so I love the excitement when December begins and the decorations are up and Christmas songs are played in shops. I also love spending the day with family, and having everyone around. Seeing people open presents that I got them is also another favourite part, it’s like a gift to me seeing them open something!

Thank you for reading this tag! Feel free to do it, and if you don’t have a blog, then just do it in the comments – I’d love to see your answers! Just copy and paste the questions below.
