Before She Knew Him – Book Review

One of my favourite books of all time is The Kind Worth Killing by Peter Swanson, so as soon as Before She Knew Him was recommended to me on my GoodReads, I bought it immediately. It’s no secret I enjoy a crime / thriller, so I won’t go into depth of my love for this genre – but just know this is a crime / thriller book haha!

Before She Knew Him follows the story of two couples who live next door, but both with their own secrets. One of the characters Hen, is convinced her neighbour is a murderer, but with past episodes of paranoia and charges, others are finding it hard to believe her. The book leaves you tense, and in a love-hate relationship with the characters. I don’t think I ever knew how I wanted the book to end, but I would say I was satisfied with the ending. However, just in true Swanson style, I did not expect the twist towards the end.

This was definitely a quick read for me, and I didn’t ever tire throughout. It’s one of those books that leave you thinking about it for days after. I will definitely be reading another one of his books. If you’re a crime, thriller and plot twist lover, then I 100% recommend this book.

Leave any book recommendations below – I have a growing reading list but love to add to it! Also, if you have GoodReads then let me know as I need more reading friends!

Until next time…
